What if I Roth convert up to the top of the 12%, 22%, or 24% bracket? What if I do that at first but pay attention to IRMAA when it becomes relevant? What if I do nothing?
For all those cases, the answer depends on what marginal rate future traditional distributions incur (or would have incurred).
Yes, indeed. This suggests using a tool that covers a time period for the entire lifecycle of the money. Pralana is good for handling the entire lifetime of a person or couple, but I don't think it easily handles the expected tax brackets for beneficiaries inheriting assets.
