Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Medigap plan N vs. G-HD

Well congrats. You have figured out which plan is right for you.
I suppose. If one didn't have to go thru underwriting(at least in PA) I most likely would've gone with G-HD instead of N. But once again, he who has the gold makes the rules.
Even in states where you can change plans without underwriting, you cannot upgrade from G-HD to N (or G). If you could, the plans would be more expensive to cover the cost to the insurer of someone going with G-HD until they have illnesses that increase cost, and then switching. This would be like having a high deductible car insurance, and wanting to upgrade to a low deductible after you have a collision. Insurance does not work like that.
