Investing - Theory, News & General • What TIP fund to pair with Ibonds?

They are not well designed for those looking for stable inflation adjusted annual income, as they intend to distribute ALL inflation adjustment and coupon payments accumulated by the entire ladder in the year earned.
If this was the sole source of inflation-adjusted income, I agree the design is less than optimal.

However, in the OP's case (10 year bridge with a flexible IBond component), the TIPB fund (2035) and a portion of the IBonds would smooth out the yearly cash-flow with minimal IBond redemptions in the first couple years but growing as the ETF moves towards maturity.

I'm not advocating for it, just showing possibilities based on the OP's desire for simplicity.
