Yes, agreed that once set up it's on autopilot - just withdraw the cash. Very easy.

There are some financial planners out there who will take on such tasks for a fixed fee
Fidelity will also perform a rep assisted trade for ~$20 per trade. Since I already have a table for how many bonds to sell each year to plug each hole, my DW should only have to provide this info to the rep for the sales and then the purchase.

That's simple and should work however rates might move. I don't believe Vanguard charges for rep assisted trades.
