Investing - Theory, News & General • Is < 3% “Bulletproof”?

I'm going to do all I can to keep my withdrawals well below 2% of the portfolio. Looking at current events it's hard to believe we're not headed for some combo of 1930s/1940s (history not repeating, but rhyming in terrible fashion). I want at least a chance to make it to the the other side, with finances intact ...

I do not 'go without', however; I've a roof over my head, paid-for car, abundant food, coffee, healthcare paid for, etc. But I'm avoiding: travel, Michelin-starred restaurants, dating supermodels*, buying a Porsche and other four- to five-figure discretionary spends.
