.. for those that did FIRE in VHCOL areas - what level of assets did you have when you finally pulled the trigger? ..

$2.2M in 2012 in southern CA.

What's your yearly spend?

In 2012 it was $95k. In 2013 it was $106k.

I'm not really seeing fleshed-out budgets related to a 50-year retirement here, but I guess that one of the points of FIRE is to follow an ascetic lifestyle.
