Which brokerage are you using?Right, but how do I know how much in earnings I have? I kind of started the process before and I think it said they would calculate that for me? Does that sound right?
You need to recharacterize the excess contribution PLUS any earnings/loss.
When I recharacterized last year, I was able to do it myself online and Fidelity calculated the earnings.
