So I don't view the DAF fee as "costing" me any more than my taxes would have been.
Fidelity DAF annual fee: 0.6%, $100 min
Taxes on dividends: 1.15% (VTSAX) x (0.15+0.038+0.093) = 0.323% for modest CA residents
Yep, you’re right if your federal tax rate is just 15%.

But the numbers change in favor of the DAF at higher federal tax rates combined with state/local income tax.
