I prefer TIPS funds for simplicity and because most of my traditional IRA space where I'd prefer to own most of my TIPS is a 401k where I can't buy individual TIPS. If you haven't come across it before, an excellent website that discusses all aspects of TIPS and TIPS funds is TIPS Watch.
