I think you are thinking they somehow calculated that the interest was somehow getting interest since the 1st of the month? It is surely possible, but regardless, looks to be a bookkeeping error.

As an aside, Vanguard as of 1/1/26, has made some big changes on the advisors and institutional sites, and there are some small changes on the personal/investors site as well.

They are making good on their migration to their new platform, and this could be a migration/data cleansing error. Pretty odd for sure.
