Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Fraudulent Debit Card Transaction

Thanks. Incidents like this can make one paranoid about fraud. I forgot that I have a scam proof card holder which is sufficient for me except it does not have the money clip Ridge has. I would prefer an all in one wallet.

During the pandemic I started using my CCs for almost all transactions, including restaurants. I have never had a problem with scamming before but wonder if it is wise to always use CCs at restaurants. Unless traveling, I get gas at Costco which is far less likely to get scammed than others.
This is a reason not to use a debit card. I do not view it as a reason not to use a credit card. Of course, I try not to do anything irresponsible with a credit card. But if there is a fraudulent charge, it is the banks money not mine. It has been pretty simple to report fraudulent charges when necessary. There are certain locations with a much higher rate of fraud. If you live in one of those areas then it would make more sense to be concerned about using a credit card in a restaurant, for instance.
