This is just nonsense.Thailand... well, I wouldnt. From all I can tell the charme of the country lies in going there without family for those who fancy.
Please consider Thailand as a destination. Amazing cities, nature, beaches, islands, food, culture etc. Virtually all street food is safe to eat. The idea that this country and Bangkok specifically is only suitable for singles and not kid friendly is just absurd.
Vietnam is amazing as well.
Bali will be hard to avoid the tourists but it’s beautiful.
In general I would avoid 2 cities because I don’t like their traffic : Jakarta and Manila. I much prefer Bangkok, Singapore, KL for big cities.
Look at Laos and Cambodia if you want to go off the beaten path somewhat.
