That sums it up quite well.To be fair, he’s educated, reasonably informed, and adept at breaking down scientific topics for consumption of the layperson. But even before the latest revelations (which are extraordinarily concerning), he eschewed the standard career route for a MD (never completed his residency), took a position at McKinsey, got back into medicine (was he even licensed?) providing care to the extraordinarily well-heeled, and branched out to podcasting as a way to serve his other business interests.
His podcast, as to paraphrase a few lines from Tinker Tailor, was quite good at first, but eventually it was watered down to contain just enough gold dust among the chicken feed to draw an audience.
But the development of the past few days provides very valid reasons to stop listening to him.
