Personal Consumer Issues • $150K Kitchen?

Is cheaper to remodel yourself than buying a remodeled house. I have a neighbor that just sold in a week at way over list and their house was redone. I had a prior house that when I sold was in a bidding war because it looked like a model home. It went for way over the list price. I would make the kitchen functional but not over-improve. Don't buy the latest fashion because that goes out of fashion as fast as it comes into fashion. I would look for a kitchen contractor to do all the work for you. I had a general contractor on my last house, and they made it easy. All I had to do was tell them what I wanted done. In my current house, I am fixing up and finding the contractors myself. It is a lot more work and a big time-consuming hassle.
