Interesting method. So i too have a BCE and a BCP (opened the BCP a few years after the BCE). My renewal is this month for the BCP and the annual fee probably will hit any moment. Are u saying that you typically downgrade the BCP when the fee hits by contacting customer support and then wait a month or so and then get the upgrade offer on of the two BCE cards (since u would have two BCEs after the downgrade)? Also i presume that you can hold more than one BCE at a time? Thats a great idea if it still works. Hopefully amex hasnt become more strict given how much they raised the amex plat card SUB spend and lowered the SUb recently. thanksHave a BCP and a BCE. Downgrade the BCP. I always get an upgrade offer with no annual fee for the BCE to upgrade to BCP on American express.com and do it (also get $75 or $150 after $1k spend), by the time I downgrade it a year later the other one has an upgrade offer. So $0 effective annual fee.
