That zenefits site does return about 735 ACA compliant plan options that are not available on the exchange when I use CA zip codes, even if you say there's only a workforce of 1. Seems worth pursuing as an option, no?Not sure what you mean by "no ACA".Wondering what is the best way to check costs for 55 yrs, 60 yrs for 2 ppl in San Diego County with no ACA ? Is there a website to check this ? or just insurance websites directly ?Yes, perhaps so, and that's kind of my point. For younger folks (and for single folks) the premiums could be much lower than what is generally discussed. Which I see you detailed yourself in another post!
If you changed your age to 60, you might see the 1200/mo number.FYI in Dallas I am seeing offered 29 EPOs, 88 HMOs and 9 POS - also no PPOs.
Texas (Austin): - Texas literally has no PPO choice at all. You cannot live in the state of Texas, at least in whatever county Austin is in, if you want a PPO. There are 77 HMOs, 46 EPOs and 9 POS's in the random zip code I checked:
40 year old male - cheapest $347/mo
50 year old male - cheapest $468/mo
60 year old male - cheapest $738/mo
Where you are looking and the type of coverage you want makes a huge difference.
Recently discovered on another thread - if you did want a PPO - you presumably could obtain one from here:
https://www.zenefits.com/benefits/healt ... -type-ppo/
At your income level, the cost may not be much different than the Marketplace.
Can't imagine there's any sort of revenue requirements for these 1-employee small business plans, but I don't know for sure.
Is it better to find a health insurance broker/agent ?
I'm in San Diego county.
CA doesn't let you do the self employed small business workaround evidently. Go to coveredca.com and search your zip code. If your income is above the tax credit phase out, then you will see what the true cost is.
