Are there many places that are offering 5.5% insured bank accounts? Having said that, the very safe treasury fund VUSXX compound yield is 5.42% currently which compared to these notes are equivalent to 5.65% APY, a mere 23 bps spread. Plus I assume these Notes are state taxable?Per the prospectus: "The Notes are not equivalent to a deposit or other bank account, and investments in the Notes are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other source. The Notes are not a brokerage account."
I'd rather get 5.5% insured by the FDIC than 5.5% not insured by the FDIC. Pass.
