Investing - Theory, News & General • Fidelity Promoting Index Funds?

Fidelity is great on domestic, international and bond Index funds all with really low ER's (few are 0% - Zero Funds). Something to be aware is that when investing with Target Date funds, they offer two versions with drastically different ER's. Their "Freedom" Target date funds have ER's 0.48% - 0.75%, while their "Freedom Index" Target data funds with similar AA to Freedom Product have ER's ~ 0.12%. Their Rep's may push you towards the standard "Freedom" products, so be sure to insist upon the "Index" products.

Ex:
Fidelity Freedom® 2045 Fund (FFFGX) - ER ~ 0.75%
Fidelity Freedom® Index 2045 Fund (FIOFX) - ER ~ 0.12%
