When Building Out an Annuity Ladder
- Is there a "safest" or typical number of years to build out?
- Should you stay to 6 yrs or less?
- Is that due to the possibility of company failures
- Or does it relate more to rate changes
- Should you build with 1 or 2 companies or a different company for every rung

From the research I have done rates are about as high as they've ever been in the last decade for annuities and CDs. Don't see the Federal Reserve raising interest rates, and more likely at least one rate cut before the end of the year. So right now seems like a good time to lock in current rates. Is this incorrect thinking?
