I pushed some funds to an external account via ACH from my credit union a couple of weeks ago. The online options were to send the funds immediately or to go with a "normal" time frame (probably 2-3 days). I chose the former and the funds *appeared* to move out immediately. However, upon speaking with a credit union representative later, I was told that so-called immediate option simply adjusted my balance immediately, but the funds did not actually move out any faster than the "normal" option. Makes me wonder. The union is part of FedNow, so either the representative was misinformed or the apparent immediacy of transfers is but an illusion.
