Indeed and it seems to be a persistent thing. I've done this exact process on my last 2 "renewals". I don't read the NYT enough to justify $12 every 4 weeks. At $4 every 4 weeks it's totally worth it. FYI, I also subscribe to WallStreet Journal Plus which is the same deal of $4/4 weeks for 1 year. It also gives access to MarketWatch and Barrons. It remains to be seen if after a year threatening to cancel gets the same deal.my NY times intro subscription of a $1 a week was expiring and I got the email it is going up to $12 a month. Logged on to cancel and hit the cancel button and they offered $1 a week for another year. I guess never hurts to say you want to cancel and see what happens.
