Another big scuba diving fan here! For us, 50s were getting ready for retirement and then retiring (all three kids finished school and off the payroll by the time I was 54, DW 53).
Since age 55, we were focused on physical conditioning. Then after retirement (57/56), we have been focused on travel, mainly adventure travel, for 6 months of the year. Now at 64/63, we continue doing that, and when at home, continue to focus on physical conditioning. Also try to see each of our grand-daughters and their parents at least twice a year (8 hour drive, and cross-country flights are involved).
Spending more time/energy with/for our respective mothers (ages 92 and 83), although much of that is being shared with siblings.
Hoping to continue in this vein at least until we can take grandchildren on hiking trips in Patagonia, but man plans and G*d laughs.... We get optimistic when we dive with gentlemen who have been diving since before we were born--but no one notices the Octogenarians who aren't on the dive boat!
I hope to have health into my 40s, 50s, 60s and onwards to continue to enjoy it like you.
Also... I saw your profile pic and I just went cenote/whale shark diving like two weeks ago. Very cool experience!
