I had a Hikvision NVR with Hikvision cameras and loathed it. No documentation, no support, super buggy, esoteric UI. I was about to trash the whole system but decided to replace just the NVR with Blue Iris. As far as I'm concerned, BI is superior in every way. And it worked fine with my existing Hikvision cameras.
