Personal Investments • Moving Portfolio from Fiduciary Manager to Personal Management

Schwab is a fine place to be, with one caveat - their core sweep fund, which is linked to dismal rate at Schwab Bank. Solution is to use a Money Market or Bond Fund and minimize what is kept in the core sweep fund.

Is this a Schwab managed account, or just a Schwab account with an outside manager? If Schwab managed, just direct Schwab to end the management. If it's an outside manager, call Schwab or visit one of their local offices and talk with them about how to move the account to your control.

Vanguard, Schwab, and Fidelity are all fine places, but none are perfect, so there are some warts.
