When I play trader (not often), once it hits 2x, I sell half.I remember thinking "It can't keep dropping further". Then it did. Again and again. Life lesson learned which included: Sure, its exciting to see something sky rocket in gains. But theres nothing wrong with selling some along the way to lock in profit and at recover your initial investment along the way.
Then I at least recover my initial stake, and the rest is 'house money'.
Then DCA out at along the way up.
Create your exit strategy in advance, before it gets heady and emotional.
