Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Anyone Glad they took Social Security Early?

Thanks to everyone for sharing their situation, perspective , and plan or action. I am still 10 years away from age 62, but I definitely think about it, with particular attention to my spouse who has been a SAHM since our 4 kids started arriving.

Like others, I also want to “maximize” the choice….just not sure what that looks like for us. Regardless, look forward to sticking around for the next 10 with you folks in the meantime.
Indeed, if your goal is to maximize your net worth at death, taking it early is likely to be your best bet.

My goal is to minimize our odds of struggling financially if we happen to live a long life.
This is well said. Also, if you happen to predecease your wife what does her life look like? That is why I am delaying.
