Personal Investments • how should I invest in bonds?

Distribution yields on ETFs are much more helpful than SEC
yields. I would venture to say that SEC yields are useless for comparisons
This is not true.
Distribution yield is based on the PAST.
SEC yield gives you a better indication of the future.
SEC yield is the main way to compare bond/bond fund alternatives as this reflects the PRICE of a bond or bonds in bond fund.
Simple thought. Take your monthly distribution from your bond ETF and divide it into your market value. I’ll bet you end up with distribution yield.
