On the other hand there was this movie Eddie and the Cruisers that came out in 1983 that I looked forward to seeing a number of times. However, it was gone after just three days!How crazy is it that movies used to stay at the movie theaters for like three or four months. Nearly in conceivable now. I don’t think they even stay out for one month now, even blockbusters. Different times. Of course, in general I think there were more high-quality movies back then. One of my favorite all time movies. Cannot believe it has been 43 years since its release. I recall seeing it at a theatre in the summer of 1981, the memory is still vivid.
But the next year in 1984, it hit HBO and tons of people saw it, which resulted in John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, who had done the movie's soundtrack, becoming quite popular.
