The oil change (always synthetic) s/b performed as 6 months has passed (oil dilution direct injection age) and does run around $80+. The reason for the expense is it is likely a 0W oil and synthetic so that car manufacturers can get an extra 2% on gas mileage as per government regulations. The tire rotation should be $40. I can not comment on why a balance would be required maintenance.[Moved to Personal Consumer Issues subforum - mod Kendall]
I am at the Honda dealership getting my 23 Accord serviced. They are charging me $185 for an oil change, tire rotation and balance. Synthetic oil. It's my first new car ever so I wanted to keep up with Maintenance and use the dealer. But this seems crazy expensive.
Should I just use the Jiffy lube? I am not a car person at all. This is the first service since after the 2 years that were included for a new car. Also the car dash says 60 % oil life remaining. It's been 6000 miles since the last oil change and 6 months. They recommend every 5000 miles but can't explain why the car says 60 %. Honda does not have a schedule in the manual, just says to follow the dashboard info.
Thanks
