Thank you both !Most companies will only rate her at Standard or Standard Plus with a history of gestational diabetes in the last 5 years. You really need an independent agent to shop her case and see what each company will offer as a best-case scenario before applying elsewhere. Why bother trying to do it all yourself when using an experienced agent costs you $0? A good agent will save you money, do all of the legwork, and it costs you nothing to use them.
You may be able to find a company that will offer Preferred rates, but Preferred Plus is a longshot. I'd suspect that out of the top 10 most competitive companies, she might get one or two that would consider Preferred rates.
I happen to know an agent and going to ask the agent.
By the way, do you think it worth to wait until 5 years to buy the term life insurance (~one year away)?
