Since the pandemic, I rarely if ever go shopping in person. In fact, I've found other or better ways to use my time (also I'm a caregiver). I live in a city and Amazon is always delivering to my building.
I get 95% of my groceries from Costco/Instacart, and I'm happy to pay extra for them doing the shopping/driving/delivery for me. If there's one bad apple in the order, I cut out the bruised section. If there are two bad apples, I ask for (and get) a refund/credit on all of the apples. Etc.
I feel that Amazon is worth the price. We use Prime on a regular basis. Whatever I can't get at Costco, I get from Amazon Prime (typically smaller quantities or name brands that Costco doesn't feature). Amazon returns for me are pretty easy--I park near a UPS store at least once a week, and they take my returns without any hassle.
(I just wish that Costco would fill up my tank with gas without having to go there. But this thread is not about Costco!)
