Bain has returned around 14.5% IRR over the past few years - it is illiquid though for an initial 7 years and then 3 year extension or so. I invested in Bain via an Alts investing platform that doesn't exist anymore - so my investment got transferred to Bain directly, it was 250K min - around 200k capital has been called over multiple phases.I’m curious. How did you find and invest in Bain Capital and in that Holiday Inn? How have the returns been for the Bain investment?
Holiday Inn -found through personal network. Some of my distant relatives invest in motels and have been doing that for 20+ years. They either build, hold it for few years and then flip or buy a distressed hotel, improve, hold for few years and flip. One of their partners is a hands on operator who manages day to day and run for efficiency.
