I will pay for various luxuries, but I balk at paying >$600 for a phone, especially to Apple.
So I buy old, used phones with decent amount of battery and then replace the battery.
Current iPhone 13 bought used for $280 and had 87% battery. The battery is a bit more degraded now (at 86%), so i’ll get it swapped.
I don’t actually trust the percentages, as at 87%, I could charge it to 95%, and it will be good for an entire day when traveling. Now at 86%, I barely get one day’s use at home.
