Me too but I notice that they did switch to OpenOffice a decade or so ago in Europe perhaps in Germany but switch back to ms office. Will it stick this time?

Interestingly I think Linux has a 15% pc desktop market share in India.
In one case -- I think it was Munich local government -- they made a switch to Linux. Then Microsoft decided to build a corporate headquarters there so suddenly they switched back to Windows. Call it what you want -- politics, bribery...

In other cases in Europe, either Linux or something else open-source was implemented but there was no training given to the users. So naturally, some of the users revolted. So they switched back. That has been a lesson learned.

This time around there will be a lot of planning and an emphasis on training.
That sound about right. You would be surprised how many tech get deployed without training because the tool is so easy people can just get it.
