You would be surprised how many tech get deployed without training because the tool is so easy people can just get it.In one case -- I think it was Munich local government -- they made a switch to Linux. Then Microsoft decided to build a corporate headquarters there so suddenly they switched back to Windows. Call it what you want -- politics, bribery...
Me too but I notice that they did switch to OpenOffice a decade or so ago in Europe perhaps in Germany but switch back to ms office. Will it stick this time?
Interestingly I think Linux has a 15% pc desktop market share in India.
In other cases in Europe, either Linux or something else open-source was implemented but there was no training given to the users. So naturally, some of the users revolted. So they switched back. That has been a lesson learned.
This time around there will be a lot of planning and an emphasis on training.
