Personal Consumer Issues • Improving terrible WiFi Signal

Thanks all. Starting with the router and will proceed from there. Per one of the above recs, and reading some other reviews, I have this router arriving today.
Thank you all. New router makes a world of difference - embarrassed I didn't simply replace it years ago. Works great in the room(s) by the router. Doesn't completely solve the issue of wifi speeds at the other end of the apartment, but it's not the router's fault there are thick walls and a bunch of stuff in them. Still working a lot better, though.
Just get a longer Ethernet cable and move the router into the middle. That should solve your problem.

If running Ethernet cable is not an issue ... you could connect another router to that router ... with them maximum distance apart and giving you maximum coverage throughout the apartment.

That is what I did with the main router in this bedroom and running a long cable through the floor to the basement to another router in the basement, which makes it located the longest distance possible from this room's router.
Are both doing routing or is second one acting as AP and using same Wi-Fi name?
