If you are struggling this badly to save for the downpayment, are you possibly looking at buying too much house in the first place?
How much are the houses you are targeting now? What's your gross income? Any other debt payments currently?
Worst case you get lucky, the market has a run up and you hit that magic 20% downpayment goal, and then get stuck loosing 40% of your takehome pay every month for the next 30 years...
Any chance you could lower your housing expectations or buy a fixer upper? Is rent drastically cheaper than mortgage payments in your area?
